flute repair webpage
I have been active as a flute repairer
for more than 35 years.
As a flute repairer/maker, I've worked at
Eva Kingma's workshop for 18 years, and
have my own repair workshop in Thorn,
Limburg in the Netherlands.
I service and overhaul piccolos, flutes,
altos and bass flutes of all brands, for
professionals, students and amateurs.
Overhauls, services and repairs are carried
out in a professional way and in close
consultation with the customer. Small
problems can mostly be solved immediately.
Through my work at Eva Kingma I have a lot
of experience with Kuiper / Kingma flutes.
Because I play myself, I know how important
the instrument is and enjoying your flute
playing starts with an instrument in
optimal condition.

- pad cleaning and padskin check
- removing serious mechanism play
- replacing adjustments if necessary
- checking leakage, adjusting and oiling
- checking head cork
- adjusting foot and headjoint if necessary
Price indication maintenance (COA):
student flutes 150 euro
(semi-)professional flutes 225 - 300 euro
FLUTE general overhaul:
- disassembling and de-pinning mechanism
- removing pads and adjustments
- cleaning and polishing
- removing scratches and dents as far
as possible
- replacing all pads
- replacing adjustments
- checking springs
- removing mechanism play
- checking leakage, adjusting and oiling
- renewing head cork
- adjusting foot and headjoint if necessary
Price indication overhaul:
student flutes 395 euro
(semi-)professional flutes 650 - 950 euro
ALTO AND BASS FLUTE
More or less the same activities and price
indications apply for altos and basses
as described above.
PICCOLO maintenance (COA):
- disassembling
- cleaning body and mechanism
- pad cleaning and padskin check
- removing serious mechanism play
- replacing adjustments if necessary
- checking leakage, adjusting and oiling
- checking head cork
- renewal cork body/headjoint if necessary
Price indication maintenance (COA):

(semi-)professional piccolos 200 - 275 euro
PICCOLO general overhaul:
- disassembling and de-pinning mechanism
- removing pads and adjustments
- cleaning and polishing
- oiling wooden body and headjoint
- replacing all pads
- replacing adjustments
- checking springs
- removing mechanism play
- checking leakage, adjusting and oiling
- renewing head cork
- renewal cork body/headjoint if necessary
Price indication overhaul:
student piccolos 375 euro
(semi-)professional piccolos 500 - 600 euro
All prices are including materials
and 21% VAT.
When I have seen the flute I can advice
what is best to bring the instrument back
to optimal condition and also give a more
exact price quote.
